My family is into guns. We may not own a vast armory of guns, but we have several in the family. I have a handful. Not a lot, but a handful. One thing I've noticed is that MOST of the women (myself EXCLUDED) have this aversion to cleaning their own guns. When I asked several of my lady friends if they cleaned their own gun, I only had one friend to say that yes she cleaned her own guns. So this is an issue that I feel needs to be addressed, and I do so in this series of videos. Right now I have made two and I plan on making more...and I will also borrow some other videos. That being said, first things first.
If you are a gun owner, you should know how to clean your own gun. Period. It helps you understand how the gun functions, and might be able to aid you in the event that you have to make a repair on it. This video addresses that and some safety issues that are involved whenever you are cleaning a gun. If there are any men watching, please note that I don't get into correct terminology until we get to the second or third video. The reason being I don't want to overwhelm the new people as that is one thing that can turn people away from learning new material.
That being said, here's my initial plan of discussion on this topic:
Video #1: Why you should clean your own gun? (Includes a discussion on safety)
Video #2: Firearm "fails"-was it the firearm or operator error
Video #3: How to clean a relatively common semiautomatic handgun
Video #4: How to clean a pump action shotgun
I do have some revolvers that I inherited. I do plan on learning to take down one of the revolvers and making a video for that, but not until I learn how to do it myself.
That being said, I now present video #1. If you have any questions or comments, please do so in this thread
