Devotional for Tuesday, May 29, 2018 - “A god to be Carried” 333wordsofgrace.org/2018/05/29/a-god-to-be-carried“They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble” (Isaiah 46:6,7 KJV). Notice the following historical account of an ancient pagan people: “The leader of the ..., called the ..., lived in a big house on top of one of the mounds and was worshipped as a god. His feet were never allowed to touch the ground! When he wanted to go somewhere, servants carried him on a litter, a type of bed or chair carried on two poles.” (A god who must be carried!)
