Must re-emphasize something I've mentioned, before. If you get in a collision, do NOT leave your vehicle in the roadway if it will move/run at all...also DO NOT leave the vehicle until you have gotten it safely off the roadway into a driveway, parking lot or other non-traveled place. We had a lady and her 3-year-old son get in a VERY minor fender-bender just recently and she got out with him in her arms to check the damage and the other driver. The accident occurred near the rise of a hill and another (inexperienced/teen) driver came over the hill too fast to stop and hit the woman's SUV in the rear (again) pushing it over her. She sustained severe head injuries and will probably also lose her arm, if she survives. The child is in the hospital being treated for wounds, too. THIS IS THE SAME OLD DEVILISH WIVES TALE (once true) that plays out again-and-again that you will 'get in trouble' if you move your car or vehicle after a collision. Sure, it's better for the cops to have the vehicle(s) in place when they arrive from an accident-investigation standpoint, but the main thing is that metal can be replaced, human lives cannot. Bottom line: Move it if you can safely do so, stay in it if you can't. Don't get out of the vehicle until it's off the traffic lane and (if the other driver is showing signs of agitation or anger) don't even get out at all. Wait for 911 personnel to arrive. SAFETY is in the metal cage or off the road, whichever makes the most sense considering the circumstances. Don't be crippled for life or die over a fender-bender. NOTE: Pic is NOT of the actual incident, but is posted for emphasis.
