I've nearly always been considered 'different' from most folks. I guess it never worried me, because I could always shake it off, even if it was said in hatred and malice. There were a good number of times I had to defend myself, because the person hurling the (intended) insult wouldn't leave it at words but took it up to a physical attack, or it looked like it was headed that way. As I got older it even became a point of (good-type) pride in me, particularly as some of my friends gave in to social pressure on drugs, criminality, alcohol and other vices. Much later on I read the following verses and the Lord comforted my heart in it, by his word. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 1 Peter 2:9 1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
