Justa Ram@ Gun District Community Another brick in the wall has fallen out of our Country's security. William Burychka@ Gun District Community And every time a Republican mentions border security, the Democrats jump up and scream "Republicans are anti immigrant!" What chance does a Republican have against a party that is just dishonest all the time? //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ‘For the Record’: Why the Southern Border May Be Even Less Secure Than Many Think by Tom Orr The battle to secure the U.S.-Mexico border has re-emerged as one of the most contentious issues on the campaign trail. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials in Washington repeatedly point to statistics that say a majority of illegal immigrants are captured while trying to enter the U.S., but agents on the ground say those numbers don’t reflect reality. Many officers who actually patrol the border say the data are manipulated in order to purposely deceive the American public. For the Record visited the CBP’s Rio Grande Valley sector to get a first-hand look at the situation. Agents there say the official numbers “just don’t add up” and that in reality, the southern border is extremely vulnerable to drug runners, smugglers and even terrorists.
