Taken from the Why ALL! Glocks should be re-called/modified, by the Glock company www.teapartycommunity.com/nomoreglockleg/info/ Page: ^ Click to ENlarge ^ From an article by Patrick Sweeney en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Sweeney_%28gunsmith%29 in Dec. 2015 Guns & Ammo- "Striker fired pistols had gained steadily in popularity and more law enforcement agencies wanted pistols with this trigger system. The problem is that law enforcement employs persons with various proficiency levels, to the point that some folks are downright dangerous with a firearm." In regard to IWB (inside waistband) carry he said: "Drawbacks to this type of carry? The gun points at Jim and twins, or the femoral artery. This is not just theoretical. In a conversation I had with a retired police chief he related the story of a female officer who opted to carry that way and had an accidental discharge. The shot severed her femoral artery in two places and she survived to get critical treatment only because a fellow officer in the room at the time carried a battlefield-type tourniquet on his belt, which bought her enough time to keep her out of the morgue." My comments: For the same reason Mr. Sweeney cites in his first paragraph, above, I have similar qualms. Not all shooters are the same. Some are safer and more safety-conscious than others. Some are new to shooting. Some are not as coordinated. Some are older and less steady-handed. The list could go on. To say 'keep your finger off the booger hook' and other silly, worn-out platitudes is like saying to your teen 'here, take the 500-hp Mustang for a quick spin to the store; after all, you know how to drive a car'!
