BOOM: Donald Trump Reveals His Plan for Gun-Free Zones, and It’s Going to Tick Off a LOT of People

Every day, Donald Trump seems to find new ways to annoy liberals of every variety, and we couldn’t be happier. Now, the 2016 GOP candidate has made a huge stand for the Second Amendment.
In a recent interview, Trump said if he were to become president, he would abolish gun-free zones on military bases, a policy enacted under Bill Clinton. Instead, Trump would require “that soldiers remain armed and on alert at our military bases.”
“President Clinton never should have passed a ban on soldiers being able to protect themselves on bases. America’s Armed Forces will be armed,” Trump said in an interview with gun blog Ammoland.
Removing these gun-free zones, Trump said, would enable military members “to defend themselves against terrorists.”
“Our brave soldiers should not be at risk because of policy created by civilian leadership,” he said.
In addition to restoring Second Amendment rights to American soldiers, Trump also said he would protect gun rights in other ways.
Trump said he does “not support expanding background checks,” claiming they simply don’t work.
“They make it more difficult for law abiding citizens to acquire firearms while consistently failing to stop criminals from getting guns,” Trump said. “We should re-examine our policy to make sure that these prohibitions do not impede law abiding citizens from exercising their Second Amendment rights.”
It is worth pointing out that most mass shooters of recent years — including Dylann Roof, Elliott Roger and James Holmes — passed background checks (H/T Breitbart). And many other criminals never submit to them in the first place, because they purchase firearms illegally to begin with.
Trump’s vigorous stand for the Second Amendment is one of the reasons he’s surging in the polls. A recent North Carolina survey found that Trump was leading in the state with 16 percent, followed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
With that sort of gain, maybe other candidates should get the message and start defending the Second Amendment with the same vigor as Trump.
